INTERNATIONAL GUARANTEE
This Mondia watch was manufactured using highly advanced techniques. Before it left the factory, it underwent stringent tests that enable us to offer a guarantee against defects in workmanship (excluding crystal and battery). The guarantee is valid for two years from the date of purchase and does not cover loss, theft, or damage due to fire, accident or improper use. This guarantee certificate must accompany the watch when service is requested under the guarantee. The certificate must be correctly filled out and must include the date of purchase and the stamp of the official Mondia dealer where the watch was purchased. The battery is not covered by the guarantee.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ANALOGUE WATCHES
SETTING THE HOUR (THE INSTRUCTIONS IN BRACKETS REFER TO WATCHES WITH A SWEEP SECOND HAND)
- Pull the crown outwards to its furthermost position (when the sweep second hand shows exactly 12 o'clock)
- Set the hour hand by turning the crown in the appropriate direction
- To start the watch at the exact time, push the crown into the normal OPERATING position (exactly when the "00" seconds time signal is given)
Note: when setting the time, advance the minute hand past the correct time and turn it back to the correct time
WATCHES WITH CALENDAR
To set the watch so that the date changes at midnight
- Pull out the crown to the time setting position and advance the hands past 12 o'clock. If the date changes, the watch is showing 12 midnight. If the date does not change, the watch is showing 12 noon
- Set the time accordingly
Note: do not turn the hands anti-clockwise when going from noon to midnight
CHANGING THE DATE AND DAY
- Pull the crown outwards to the first notch
- Turn the crown until the appropriate number appears inthe date window
- Turn the crown in the opposite direction until the correct day in the desired language (bilingual model) appears in the day window (the other language appears momentarily when the day changes automatically)
- Push the crown back into the normal operating position
Note: do not attempt to change the date between 9 PM and 12 midnight. Do not attempt to change the day between 12 midnight and 4 AM
CHANGING THE BATTERY
- Be sure to change the battery when it is dead. Do not leave a dead battery in the watch. See your dealer for information on the expected life of the battery
- If the watch has a sweep second hand and the hand is moving every 2 seconds, the battery is running down (some models do not have this feature) but the watch will still keep perfect time
- See an authorised MONDIA dealer for battery replacement
- Be sure to install a battery recommended by MONDIA
Note: because it was installed at the factory, the battery in a new watch may have a slightly shorter life than its expected life
MAINTENANCE
- This watch is equipped with an electronic circuit board and a precision miniaturised stepping motor. To ensure that the watch will continue to keep perfect time, avoid hard knocks and extreme temperatures. Also, keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields
THE WATER RESISTANCE OF MONDIA WATCHES
- NOT WATER RESISTANT: avoid using the watch under conditions of excessive humidity. If the watch accidentally comes into contact with water, have it checked by an authorised MONDIA dealer or MONDIA service centre
- WATER RESISTANT: this type of watch may accidentally come into contact with water but must not be immersed in water or exposed to a strong stream of water
- WATER RESISTANT TO 40 m: the watch may be worn in a swimming pool when underwater or diving from the edge, but must not be worn when diving from a diving board. The watch is not designed for deep diving or surfing. Never operate the pushbuttons underwater
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WATER RESISTANT WATCHES
- Have your water resistant watch checked by a professional watchmaker at least once a year. Also, be sure to have it checked before subjecting it to severe operating conditions
- Before immersing the watch in water, make sure the crown is completely pushed down against the case. Threaded crowns must be screwed down tightly
- Avoid exposing your watch to sudden temperature changes (for example, prolonged exposure to the sun followed by sudden immersion in cold water)
- Avoid hard knocks. If your watch does receive a hard knock, have it checked by a watchmaker as soon as possible
- Avoid operating the crown or the pushbuttons when the watch is undervvater or wet
- Rinse the watch in fresh water after exposure to salt water
- Never attempt to open a water resistant watch yourself
